MINERAL MONDAY: APOPHYLLITE
Apophyllite is quartz’s look alike twin but they are actually quite different. Quartz attunes to its user and focuses on raising the vibration on the physical plane where apophyllite channels far more divine and spiritual energy down into the physical plane. It is one of my favorite energies for inner guidance and personal development. Apophyllite also makes me feel seen, supported, and nurtured by my angels and spiritual guides.
Apophyllite is like a hand to hold when you feel lost. Lifting the veil cast over us to keep us blind to to our deep connection to the spiritual world, it works to attune us with the reality that we are part of something far bigger. It opens your eyes to the idea that everything around you is filled with life and energy and an intelligence that we can learn from. The plants, the animals, the rocks, the ground we walk on -- it is all alive and part of both our individual and collective journeys.
Stimulating and clearing the chakras, apophyllite invites higher energies to enter through the crown chakra. It helps you maintain balance and a very present mindset where you can clear distracting thoughts and resonate with these divine energies presenting themselves to you. Apophyllite wants to awaken you to the conscious connection between the physical and spiritual planes where you can tap into guidance about your individual path.
Enhancing your intuition, it promotes introspection into your own thoughts and actions, helping you identify and correct any flaws that are holding you back. It wants you to reach a place of understanding the self (as it is) where you can put a name to that which you would like to change in order to become your best self. It is a stone of truth and it will help you find yours and then it’ll help you share it with the world. On a bigger level, it imbues the vibration of universal love into your thinking and decision making which attunes the mind with the spirit.
Meditation is a great way to dive deep into your apophyllite. It has many messages for you and you have to be willing to clear your mind and inner eye to really access it. Hold it in your hands or on your lap and ask it for the guidance you seek. Some preferred physical placements of apophyllite are the heart, third eye, and crown chakras. Placing it over the heart chakra strengthens your awareness of divine love, over the third eye for communication and insight from spirit, and over the crown chakra for direct connection to the energies of higher realms both angelic and spiritual. I believe that simply holding it and channeling its energy can work but the actual placements on your chakras can be quite powerful too, especially if you can lay down comfortably and really ease yourself into the energetics of this stone. It also helps the spirit come to terms with being comfortable in a physical body.
Keeping an apophyllite in a high traffic area of your home or any space you inhabit will bring a peaceful, clarifying, highly spiritual energy to your room. It is also said that the angels and spirits are attracted to the high energies of apophyllite and that they may be channeled or contacted through the use of this stone. I like to think my apophyllite specimens keep my angels and energetic guides close and I pick up the pieces in my collection often and get lost in their prismatic crystalline structures. The formations on apophyllite remind me of mirrors and windows which resonates deeply with how we interact with ourselves and with the world around us. Mirrors reflecting back what we think we know of ourselves on this physical plane and windows are the spirit hoping to lead us in a little deeper.
Stilbite and chalcedony are two other minerals that often form alongside apophyllite offering additional nurturing and balancing energies to an already supportive stone.
Stilbite is the peachy pink mineral that forms in peculiar fan or blade like structures. It is an energy full of joy and acceptance. I always feel warm looking at it as it soothes doubt and replaces it with the hope and assurance that if you keep your heart open -- even through the most difficult times -- good things will come. It instills the vibration of unconditional love throughout the system and heals the heart chakra to stimulate self expression and general expansion. It encourages the confidence that dreaming big is worth it and will even help structure your thought so that ideas can turn into action. Stilbite is known to help one access a vivid or lucid dreamscape if it is kept near the bed or under the pillow. Together with apophyllite it focuses some of the spiritual and divine energy into the heart to unite the mind and emotions for a harmonious and love filled outlook where anything is possible.
Chalcedony is a sometimes clear but often blue layer of micro crystals that form along a base minerals surface. It is a form of quartz so it attunes itself to the user and to the needs of the mineral it forms alongside. It’s calming and centering energy emanates outwards -- soothing the physical, emotional, and spiritual bodies. While apophyllite and stilbite are working with the waking mind and higher consciousness, chalcedony digs deep and taps into the subconscious. It helps surface worry, doubt, and trauma -- encouraging you to communicate and speak your deepest truths with ease. It can be a great helper during therapy or during any emotional healing work because of this. Chalcedony wants to imbue a sense of peace, awareness, and clear communication with your inner self and the world around you.
key words: guidance | clarity | insight | intuition | divine energy
when you might want some apophyllite handy:
if you mediate and would like to tap directly into divine energy
if you are feeling blocked from your truth or don’t know if you are on the right path
when you have questions that need answering by your spiritual guides and angels
if you want to develop your intuition and understanding of self
if you feel like you have no connection to the spiritual realm or higher energies apophyllite will help lift the veil and make you aware of the fact that life and lessons are in everything
I like to address my collection regularly and see if anything jumps out at me — if something does then I like to take a moment to think about its properties (often I refer to my crystal books or even a quick google is helpful). When I am able to resonate with the properties of a stone that has caught my attention, I am in tune with its energy and it is in tune with mine. This practice also helps you grow your working knowledge of the stones!! There is so much to it and it is easy to get overwhelmed. If you take it day by day, crystal by crystal, it comes to you.
Thank you for tuning in to Mineral Monday! If you have any preferences on stones I should write about next or any general blog content you would like to see reach out to hello@thecypruscabinet.com!!
